Start the Week with Self Love

It’s Monday, it’s a brand-new week and brand-new possibilities lie ahead.  I’m starting the week with the intention to be kind and gentle with myself first.  No matter what comes up, these are the two energies I’m focusing on to get me through everything.  When I feel restless, when I have low energy, when I’m being lazy, procrastinating and get annoyed at myself.  When my body hurts and I can’t go out for a walk and I’m upset.  When I let myself get frustrated, forgetting myself and eating out of control…I’m leaning on – kind and gentle.

Sometimes we just need a little kindness and gentleness to get us through.  Not every day can be the same, not every day can we expect the same, and when we just plain fall off the wagon, we need to remember to be – kind and gentle – with ourselves.

I wrote kind and gentle on a sticky note and stuck it on my fridge so I can see it every day.  Use these words if they feel good for you, or use whatever words feel good, and just remind yourself you deserve to be – kind and gentle – with yourself.

  1. I love the thought of writing kind and gentle on a sticky note and placing it where it will be seen often. I really need to do that. I am hard on myself a lot, especially when I’m not feeling well. And some days I feel down, so I allow myself to eat a lot of junk, and that always makes me feel worse. Thanks for this great reminder to be more kind to myself!

    1. I really don’t know why we’re so hard on our selves, maybe it’s because we expect perfection from ourselves, well I hope that the words ‘kind and gentle’ will be a reminder to give yourself a brake. xoxo

  2. This is a wonderfully comforting & reassuring post to read. I’m glad you have the words on your fridge to remind yourself to be kind to yourself. It’s easy to beat ourselves up or, as I often do, to get frustrated with ourselves. I often find this when my body is struggling too much and all the things I had needed to get done are piling up… the more I fall behind, the more annoyed I get with myself and my body. It doesn’t help and you’re right, we need that kindness to ourselves and that will help us look after ourselves better too, rather than losing track of our wellbeing routines or letting eating get out of control one way or another. I have to constantly remind myself, and like you say it doesn’t help when things are piling up because that makes me even more frustrated, or other issues that make me loose track of my wellbeing, so for me I need that reminder to be kind and gentle with myself.
