My 6 Best Tips for Inviting in Calm

Hello fabulous you!!!

I think that most of us are feeling the heaviness of what’s going on in the world, I don’t know how you can not, and as a result, all the heaviness that we’re letting into our system is creating stress in our bodies and affecting our nervous system. So, it’s important to take care of ourselves, to pay some extra special attention to our body our mind and our emotions. For me that is making sure that I am not stressing out by intentionally creating inner calm.

There is no right way or wrong way to self-care, it’s our own responsibility to be accountable for our own well-being. Making self-care a priority, should not be viewed as egotistical, selfish or a luxury. If anything, it’s smart and responsible to do.

How can you give yourself calm?

Take a few moments in the morning and check in with yourself. Spend a minute and sit quietly focusing inward, ask yourself, how are you feeling? What do you need right now, today?

Breathe – take a moment throughout the day and breathe in more deeply.  Just take a few real deep breaths to remember yourself.

Mental check – make a conscious effort to pay attention to the thoughts you’re having.  Are they compassionate to yourself?  Are they loving and kind to yourself?  What are you telling yourself? If, you’re putting yourself down, hitting on yourself, they are not benefiting your well-being, change them.

Watch a silly movie, one that makes you laugh, or a feel good movie, I like the Hallmark movies for this. Your body will become calm and relaxed because you’ll be focused on what makes you feel good.

If you’re at home, take a pause, a 20-30 minute nap will do wonders for you.

Get off social media and give yourself a break from all that noise. Set limits to your social media scrolling time.

And one extra tip, splurge on something fabulous. Buy yourself flowers. Get a massage. A pedicure. A new purse. Give yourself a little pampering.

So, this is your invitation to bring calm into your body. Use my suggestions, create your own, do what feels good for you and creates inner calm for yourself, you’ll be grateful that you did.
