Are You Following Your Ego or Your Heart

The job of the ego is to protect us and to keep us safe, that means keeping us in the same familiar place, where things are cozy and safe.

It’s taken me a lot of inner work to recognize when I’m being guided from my ego who is constantly telling me that I shouldn’t do this…can’t do that…it’ll be too hard…what’s the point…don’t even bother to start, it won’t work out …you’re not really good enough for this…and I’m still working on this, and I still fall into the ego trap. This is not an overnight success story. 🙂

quote

I believe our ego is a part of who we are and is with us to serve a purpose.  But, when we have those moments of self doubt, we can be mindful, let them show themselves, recognize that those negative, self doubting thoughts are from our ego place, say thank you and let them go.  And with mindfulness drop into our heart.

The heart knows the way.  The heart holds our secrets and treasures for a life filled with joy, purpose and beauty.  When we step into a journey with our heart, we live inspired through creativity, passion, mindfulness, purpose…Our life becomes magical.

Letting myself be guided by the beauty in my heart has opened this amazing, magical universe for me.

How about you?  Are you being guided by the beauty in your heart?  Leave a comment love to hear from you.

Blessings

    1. That’s so true, my intuition has never ever steered me in the wrong direction either, I may not have always listened, but it’s always steered me into the right direction. Thank you

  1. An interesting point because the ego is, I think, more dominant in some people (my old psych degree would say it’s underdeveloped and overdeveloped in varying degrees during childhood and can have a lasting effect), but it’s always there. Usually, it gets well balanced, but not always. It’s important to listen to our heart and have our thoughts, feelings and actions coming from a place of purpose, mindfulness and kindness.xx
