Sunday Inspiration and Goodness

Happy Sunday guys, how are you? Hope all is well, and you’re great!!!

I was watching the speech legendary rapper Snoop Dogg gave when he received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and I really applaud him because, along with thanking some deserving people for his success, he also thanked himself (Here). It reminded me how important thanking yourself is.

So, Iet’s talk about – thanking yourself. We’re so quick to put ourselves down, and to believe that we’re not strong enough, or brave enough, but seriously, how often do we elevate ourselves and thank ourselves?

I don’t remember from where I got this, but thanking myself has become part of my self-care, and his speech reminded me that I haven’t thanked myself in a while for all that I do, and all that I am. All the challenges I’ve overcome, for showing up for myself, and all the work I’ve done to find me.

I know that for some, thanking yourself may be an outrageous concept, rooted in an old seeded belief you’re holding on to, like it was for me, but a belief can be changed.  No matter what, how big or small your accomplishment, or the challenges you have overcome, self-appreciation shows you that you can, that you’re more resilient than you think.  It holds you up to the light and opens the door towards compassion and love for yourself.

Thanking myself has changed the way I see myself. It’s helped me to be more confident and trust myself.

This is a powerful practice that helps you to feel yourself, it reminds you to be grateful and appreciate yourself. And when life presents you with a challenge, thanking yourself for what you have done, is a great reminder that you’re strong and able to grow and get through anything.

When you thank yourself you’re honoring yourself, you’re declaring your value and worth.

So, today I’m offering you to consider the possibility of appreciating yourself. Not for just the big challenges you’ve come through, but all the daily things too. For showing up for yourself, for not quitting on yourself, for going the extra mile to get there. For taking care of yourself every day. For doing the hard work, for believing in yourself, for failing and trying again… You play the greatest role in how you live your every day, thank yourself, you deserve to honor all that you are.

What I’m doing

Last week I started reading this book, I got the digital format from the library, I was hoping I could finish it in time since I only can get it for 14 days, but I read it in two, couldn’t put it down, so good 🙂

I’m now reading Tony Robbins, Awaken the Giant Within. I’ve taken this book out before but returned it unread, I think I wasn’t ready for it. You know how it is, sometimes you’re just not aligned to receive the message. But, I’m loving it so far.

And

The picture is me, Sunday at home, relaxing, going to trim my flowers 🙂 Oh and just to keep it real, I did touch up the picture with this new app I have 🙂 so fun.

What do you think, are you thanking yourself? I’d love to know.

Have a wonderful day and week ahead,

Lots of goodness + blessings

Monday Love Note and Musings

Happy Monday guys,

Hey, have any plans for this week besides working?  Here’s a novel idea, put some intentional moments into your day.

There are so many wonders planted in the universe, but how often do we pay attention to them, how often do we miss the glorious miracles all around us, we’re so busy in our daily lives that we miss them, take them for granted, or worse don’t even care.

This week make an intentional effort to see one thing daily.

Stare into the beauty of a flower, watch a sunrise or a sunset.  Look up at the clouds. Breathe in the air intentionally letting it fill you with energy.  In the morning listen to the chirping of the birds, look at the magnificence of the trees right in your neighborhood.  Listen to the wind, the rain. Children at play, laughter. And we too are magnificent miracles, find something beautiful about yourself.

Just one small thing will open your heart and fill you with joy.

What I’m doing

Today I start a new class with the beautiful Susannah Conway “Tarot for Your Inner Child”. Really looking forward to this.

Yesterday I started reading The Dutch House, I got the digital version from the library, hope I can finish it in time I only get 14 days.

And, this week I’m living intentionally looking at the wonder around me.

And

My son took this picture when he was in Mexico, he said, if you follow the river all the way to the end, it takes you to a huge park.

What’s on your agenda for this week, I’d love to know.

Have a wonderful week ahead,

Lots of blessings

The Secret to Having a Great Day

Hello wonderful you, How are you? Hope all is well, and you’re great!!!

Let me share a little something that I’ve been doing for a long time now, that’s made a huge difference in how I feel and in how my days unfold.

And that’s having a morning ritual/practice that supports me throughout the day.

I used to wake and immediately turn on the news, check emails, social media…In addition, all that annoyed me and stressed me out the day before and the day before that, I carried over and kept on playing and replaying in my mind over and over again. By the time I got to work, I was wired, stressed, depressed and anxious and that’s how I started my day.

Today I start my day meaningfully, with a ritual/practice that serves my highest good.

Focusing on me first thing in the morning helps me to be more mindful of how I nourish myself throughout the day, paying attention to my body, mind and spirit.  It puts me in a different mindset, one that makes me feel calm, happy, and energized.

My morning routine opens my heart and creates a positive energy flow that continues for the rest of the day.  I’m stepping into the day with intention, purpose and gratitude.

Here’s what I do:

My #1 rule for my practice is that, I do not allow any thoughts that are harmful to my wellbeing to show up in my mind and no cell phone, social media, emails etc. before my practice.

I give gratitude for the day, I thank my God, thank all of my celestial team and I invite them into my day with me.  I give thanks for my life, thanks for this great amazing day, this grounds and centers me and fills my heart with joy.

I journal three pages, “morning pages” I adopted this practice after reading Julia Cameron’s book, The Artist’s Way.  I write whatever comes to my mind, no prompts, just my own thoughts.  This helps to get the gook out of my head, it’s a decluttering of my mind, and now I’m free to think more clearly and creatively.

I say a few affirmations.  I declare that this day is great and that I am healthy, amazing, strong powerful…my affirmations change as I need.

I also give myself a little pep talk, I am capable.  I can do anything.  I am smart.

Then I light a candle and I smudge myself with sage to remove any unwanted energies, and I say a little prayer.

The secret that I found to having a great day is in how I start the day, because the energy I start my day with is how the rest of the day follows. Focusing on me first thing in the morning sets me up to be more mindful of how I nourish myself throughout the day.

Starting the day with the focus on you, on how you feel and what you’re thinking, is how you can honor your wellbeing.

You don’t need to do what I do, I’m offering you my practice as an example to draw from, an invitation to create your own. You’re welcome to use mine or not, but do something, even just a couple of minutes of focusing on your wellbeing will make a difference in how you feel. Give yourself a hug every morning and tell yourself some affirmations that make you feel good. Read a passage from your favorite book. Light a candle…Do something that will benefit and elevate you.

Taking positive steps towards a healthy, happy life is your own responsibility and your choice.

I invite you and encourage you to start, if you’re not already, start your day with a routine that honors you and is sacred to you. You deserve to care for yourself in the best way possible.

I trust this serves you, oh and BTW I’d love to know how you start your day.

Much love and blessings xoxo

Treat Every Day with Awe

Hello wonderful you,

How are you? Hope all is well, and you’re great!!!

I’m taking it easy this weekend, happily chillin LOL. This past week I came across this quote by Maya Angelou, and I love it, it’s so in alignment with how I want to live every day, so I thought I’d share it with you.

My thoughts:

Treat every day with awe, and feel the grace it offers.  Because, every day is new, holding new gifts, new opportunities, new beauty, new mountains to climb. Where we’re invited into the gifts of new surprises, new doors opening, new adventures to be had.

Treat every day with awe because, every minute holds the opportunity to make new choices, of letting go of old thoughts that keep us locked in the same place and don’t serve us, and picking up new thoughts, ones that elevate us, honor us, recognize our beauty and worth.

Treat every day with awe because, every day is here and when it’s gone we cannot bring it back.

And because every new day is our gift.

Leave a comment, I’d love to know your thoughts.

Have an awesome weekend!

Blessings!

Monday Love Note

Hello wonderful you,

I’m sinking into a moment of gratitude for these flowers, appreciating their beauty and just simply being grateful that they’re gracing my home.

I felt so bad yesterday when towards the end of the day I remembered that they were still in the back seat of my car from the day before.  I put them in water and gave them some love and attention and within a couple of hours they perked up and look so beautiful in my kitchen, and I’m so happy and grateful.

Imagine what can be if we gave some love and attention to ourselves?

So, this week my nurturing of myself will be on my thoughts. I’ve decided to pay close attention to my thoughts and allowing only those that uplift me, weeding out those that put me down, say I’m less than, and rub me of my natural worthiness and amazing-ness.

What do you think, will you join me in some self nurturing, celebrating your own amazing-ness? Leave a comment, I love to know.

Have a wonderful week. Blessings.

Tips to Make this Week a LIttle Easier for You

Hello, wonderful you. How are you? Hope all is well, and you’re great!!!

I’ve been thinking about how much pressure I’ve been putting on myself these past couple of weeks to be creative, to get things done, to not let time go by unnoticed. To finish reading, to write a blog post, to shop, to prepare, to go to appointments, to post on social media, (and BTW you can follow me here) until it finally dawned on me that I’m totally stressing myself out with gogogo and dododo and not taking time out to just be.

So here’s a thought for you:

Make your life a little easier this week and let go of having to be superwoman, things do not have to be perfect, you don’t have to finish every single project on your list. Prioritize. Cut yourself some slack. Perfectionism is overrated. It’s ok not to know everything.

Remember you, remember to take out time to nourish and refresh every single day, if something you planned is not working out perfect, that’s ok, maybe it’s not meant to.

Say ‘no’ to one invitation and instead take that time for you. Relax.

Take daily breaks to just be quiet, if you’re working give yourself a mental break, go outside and have your lunch alone, eat your lunch in a park, in a restaurant by a window and watch all the people walking by.  If you’re in a safe place, close your eyes for a few minutes and breathe in deep.

Give yourself a little pampering, get a cuppa, put your feet up you can do the laundry later.  Take a bath, light a candle, infuse the water with essential oil scents that are calming for your senses, like Lavender and Eucalyptus.  Give yourself a social media break and spend that time instead in quiet bliss.

Once or twice, or however many times you want, get take out so you don’t have to cook.

Listen to soft music, dance in your living room, read something uplifting. Fill yourself with positive vibes.  Say some positive uplifting affirmations.  Give yourself a pep talk, you can do it, you’re amazing, you’re strong and powerful.

Do something every day that makes you happy.

And make things a little easier for yourself.

Let me know what you think, leave a comment, love to know.

Have a great, wonderful week ahead. Blessings.
