Why You Need Quiet Time in Your Life

I LOVE my quiet time. I LOVE to spend time alone with just me. I cherish, honor and value it. It’s the most sacred and important gift I give to myself every day.

It wasn’t always like this. It started when I wanted to learn how to meditate. At first it was hard to sit and not do anything, I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin, I needed to get up and do something.   As soon as I started to meditate I felt guilty, my thoughts went into overdrive and all I could think about is all the things I had to do, laundry, shopping, call clients, my work tomorrow… And than there was also the thoughts that raced through my mind of the what if’s – what if my kids are calling me and need me? What if my mother needs me? What if…and wait I have to clean, my friend is coming over later…After sitting for what seemed like forever, I stopped meditating and looked at the time and not even a minute had gone by. (I’m laughing at this now)

But, I was determined, it was like there was some force inside of me that kept pushing at me and so I continued and with practice and devoted time, I was able to sit in quiet for longer periods of time, and it started to feel good.

My quiet time has transformed to also include time for journal writing, for prayer time, for doing inner work to remove the layers of rubble that I buried myself under, and break through the walls I built around me, slowly liberating myself from the prison I enclosed myself inside of.

I LOVE to spend time alone, It’s when I feel the most connected with Spirit, with Divine Mother. It’s when I’m the most creative. It’s because of the time I spend in quiet solitude that I found ME and I gained strength and courage. I found my creative self and I found my voice, and some of my best ideas come to me while in quiet solitude.

I’m still unfolding in this quiet-time and finding deeper pathways to step into.

Quiet time has opened doors to my inner world, it has helped me to find myself and to speak my truth. To stand my ground and to put up boundaries. It’s taught me to realize what is important for me – to love myself, to give to myself, to believe that I am special, I am worthy, I am deserving – that I am the universe incarnated into me.

As a result, my quiet in my life has become a sacred ritual that makes me feel every day aligned with universal forces and deeply nourished and loved in all ways.

Do you have a quiet time practice?  Love to hear about it.

This blog post was inspired by my friend Terri Conneli.  I’m participating in her IG 5 day #quiettimechallenge, this is in response to day 2 prompt “Quiet in my life.”  I think we’re on day 3 now, so I’m a bit behind. 🙂

Simple Pleasures Can Fill Us With Joy

In the realm of the day to day we can find simple pleasures that fill us with great joy.

On Friday I went to my granddaughter’s school for a grandparents lunch. I sat next to my precious sweetheart who told me all about everything in the school.  Her favorite teacher who sat at our table, her best friend who was a few tables over, well she really has two best friends, and when I took a picture of the first graders singing she asked me why I’m taking a photo since she’s not in it LOL. And when I opened my napkin she showed me how to place my utensils the correct way. And I was gifted with these gorgeous roses.

A joyous memory I will hold forever in my heart.

Grateful for simple pleasures.

Feel free to share a simple pleasure that brought you great joy this past week, in the comments below.  Love to know.

Getting Un-stuck

OK I really need help here, there are times that I just can’t leave work on Friday and leave it all behind me and pick it up again on Monday.  No matter how much I try I need closure, I need to finish what has started, I need to address issues…I cannot put them aside, shelve them neatly in my mind, lock them behind a closed cabinet. I can’t seem to disengage from the words that are like stuck in my mind, playing themselves over and over, and I carry them with me for the entire weekend because of course always things come up on Friday.

quote8This keeps me stuck and all the things I had planned on accomplishing during the weekend I can’t seem to get into.  I’m stuck inside this negative energy and I’m unable to open the way for love and kindness and creativity and whatever other amazing things want to embrace me.  I’ve tried meditating, going out for a walk.  I tried going through my photos, taking photos, writing, food shopping,  cooking, do the lesson from the course that I’m taking…Like I said, I’m usually mostly pretty good at getting un-stuck, but there are those times that no matter what I do, I can manage to quiet those swirling thoughts for a bit, but then they come back again and again. They are there and they overtake me.

Does this happen to you? Love to know what you do, how do you disengage and get unstuck from it all.

Every Moment Holds Possibilities

Every moment holds a richness within it that is waiting to be unlocked. A world of new possibilities, of unlimited potential, of opportunities, of miracles and magic. Of feelings yet unknown, of experiences yet to uncover. Of great mysteries to be unveiled.possibilities3

Every moment offers us the possibilities to change our life, to uplift ourselves, to look at what we want to hold on to and what we want to let go of.

Every moment is filled with new choices we can make, a new path we can take, a new project we can start.

In every moment we can nourish our souls, we can decide to…take another step towards our dream. Renew. Change. Become empowered.  Open a new door within.

With every moment we can –

Let go of judgment.

Leave toxic relationships.

Create a new vision for ourselves.

We can –

Dream bigger.

Forgive.

Accept.

Be gentle with our self.

Get curious.

Love.

In every moment lies the opportunity to open to our Great Mother and become the co-creators of our life together with Her.

In every moment lies endless possibilities…

Open to the Wild Within

Open to the wild within and touch the wild that is waiting for you. Greet Her with love and look on Her with owe, feel a sense of belonging – you already know Her she’s been with you all of your life and over many other lifetimes since the beginning of your soul.  She’s been with you guiding you and loving you, embracing you in Her compassion. You heard Her, felt Her, followed Her wisdom when you were open enough and trusting enough. She is the wise woman inside you, the Divine Mother; open up to Her, let Her reveal the universe to you. Love yourself in all of Her glory – she’s moving mountains for you.

Know that everything happens in divine timing, if you’re reading this you’re here for a reason, your soul has brought you to here to these words. Listen to yourself.  Open that door to within; the great Divine Goddess is waiting for you to unfold into Her.

Do you trust the wisdom from within you?

Do you have a relationship with yourself?  With your inner wild self?  Do you know who she is?  Do you know She is You? Do you love Her/yourself completely, without judgment, without criticism? Do you accept yourself totally?  Do you say loving words to yourself?

Open up to your own inner being, let the door to your heart open, and be open minded and allow for the process of healing to begin.

You are love, you came from love and you will return to that love. Allow yourself to experience all the love that is waiting to embrace you.

What if You Loved YourSelf

What would happen if you started to love yourself, I mean –

r e a l l y   l o v e   y o u r   s e l f  in a way you never have before –

What would happen if you started to believe even for a moment that you are deserving, worthy, magnificent, spectacular and perfect just the way you are. That you are enough, creative, loving, good, the perfect size, have the perfect shape and you don’t need to do anything more to come to that special place of loving yourself.

buddah quote 1

That to love yourself you don’t have to apologize, feel guilty, need permission; give up your own needs to fill someone else’s.

Much too often we put ourselves last on the list, our children come first, the spouse comes first, the job comes first, the friend, family, parents, other obligations, all come first. We worry about being egotistic, conceited, not caring or good enough.  We worry about meeting someone else’s expectations of us and looking good in someone else’s eyes, and… In the end we feel depleted, out of breath, run down, depressed, resentful…

What would happen if you poured real love unto yourself and if you let that love shine in your whole body?  What if your love for yourself would be so great that you couldn’t contain it and you would have to let it pour out of yourself to others?

Imagine what it could be like if you were totally and completely in love with yourself.

If you dared to declare I  L O O O O O O O V E  M E E E E E E E E.

Imagine if you could love everyone else and still love yourself more.

What would happen?

What would your life look like – if you became your own best, best friend.  Had compassion for yourself. What if you decided that you matter, that you’re important, that you are precious?  Embraced yourself, hugged yourself and remembered that you are sacred and honored yourself.

Where on the to do list would you place yourself?

You are magnificent and divine and deserving of your own self love.

What would it be like if – you honored you, if you were your own possession unto yourself.  If you released yourself and let yourself off the hook, put yourself first, loved yourself unconditionally, forgave yourself, only held on to thoughts that uplift you and let go of all the thoughts that don’t.

If you just plain loved yourself – what would happen???

Blessings
