What a Kind Word Can Do

I don’t think this will be a surprise to anyone, but giving away a kind word is free.  A positive kind word will definitely inspire an inner shift in how we feel.  Just think of how you felt the last time someone gave you a compliment out of the blue, telling you – great job…you look beautiful…I bet that felt pretty good, It most likely lit you up and put a smile on your face.  🙂

A positive kind word can change someone’s day or even days.  So, let’s dole it out, let’s give it freely from our heart, it’s free, especially now during the holiday season when we’re all so busy rushing about trying to get it all done, and maybe feeling a bit stressed with all that is on our to do lists.  Receiving a kind word can uplift our spirit and create a sense of well-being.  Just a simple – thank you – coming from the heart can touch someone in a special way and transform their day.

And you never know, your kind word may have a ripple effect, that person now may turn around and do the same, and change someone else’s day.

So let’s do it, my kind word for you lovelies is – You are AMAZING!!!

December is all about Being in the Moment

December is all about being in the moment.

Finding that one moment in the day that brings you joy, that slows you down for an instant, that makes you feel the wonder.  That you set aside your to do lists, stop the rushing about and just enjoy – being in the moment – Breathe…

This is my – in the moment – today.  I opened the shade and WOW!

Every morning I’m blessed with the magnificence of these birds, I say hello my friends, and we greet the day together.  But for some reason this morning it just hit me in a special way.  I stood there staring at them, with a huge smile on my face, just watching them for a moment longer than I usually do.  And it came to me that I’m making December a month of stopping, even if it’s just for a moment, and breathing in the wonder of this amazing Universe.

Join me in making December a month of being in the moment and finding a WOW every day for yourself.  Set the intention for it and it will show itself to you.  You may also want to keep a journal of the WOW you find every day, so at the end of the month you can look at all the wonder moments you had.

The Secret of Affirmations

“Affirmations are the beginning point of change.” ~ Louise Hay

I wholeheartedly believe in positive affirmations being transformational.

2affirmI first learned about affirmations from Louise Hay, and to be honest at first I was afraid to say them.  Saying positive, uplifting, encouraging, or healing words to myself felt like something taboo.  I didn’t know it then but, by making that conscious decision to say them, even while I was filled with fear, taboo fear, I was beginning on a journey of healing and changing my life in ways that I couldn’t even imagine because I started to tap into the law of the universe in a positive way.

As I grow my affirmations change to support me where I am at.  I change words, I let go of words, and not a day goes by without me affirming who I am, what I am, and how I am.  To me an affirmation is a declaration that I affirm about myself.  I’m telling the universe, this is the truth of who I am, and what I want, and how I see myself.  And then I believe wholeheartedly in the magick of the affirmation I’m declaring.  This is the big secret behind every affirmation, no affirmation will work if you say it, but don’t believe in it, if you say – money flows to me easily and magically – and inwardly you believe completely the opposite, this will never work, guaranteed it will not.  And of course you have to take action here and do the work, you can’t just sit on your bed and say an affirmation and expect fire works to go off.

Affirmations have helped me to overcome challenging, self sabotaging, negative thoughts.  Realize dreams.  Change negative energy at work.  Help me heal, eliminate stress…they have been transformational.

Magick and miracles have appeared in my life because of affirmations and they can make a difference in your life too.

How to Get Yourself Out of a Funky Mood

Life happens and we all fall into the pit of – funky mood – at times.  When that happens here’s one way that you can pull yourself out when you realize that you have fallen down the pit of funky mood.

Writing

Write out a gratitude/pick me up list.

Write down ten things that you’re grateful for about yourself.  And don’t worry it doesn’t have to be perfect, there is no such thing, there is no right or wrong.  This list is for you, don’t worry about grammar, or punctuation, or what someone else will think.  And yes, let yourself be totally – selfish and self-absorbed – who cares.  This is a self-love/pick me up out of funk letter to yourself.  So, take three deep breaths, put a smile on your face and start writing –

Some examples:

I am grateful that I got my nails done.

I am grateful for my beautiful hair.

I am grateful that I am awesome.

I am grateful for my mind.

I am grateful for my breakfast.

I am grateful for my health.

I am grateful that I am safe and secure.

I am grateful that I am spectacular.

You can also write:

I am powerful.

I am strong.

I am confident.

I am precious.

No negatives allowed here and don’t limit yourself it doesn’t have to be fabulous, you’re not in competition with anyone. Find things that you can say about yourself.  I am a great baker.  I love to read magazines.  You’re just going to write out ten things that you’re grateful for, pick me ups that will uplift your spirit.  I am grateful that I lost 4 pounds.  I am grateful that I walked up the stairs…If you have more than ten write them, and if you don’t have ten, then just find five or three.

When you’re done, read your list out loud to yourself, but don’t read it like a robot, read it and let each gratitude/pick me up seep into you, embrace it, feel it to be the truth of you, give thanks for it.  Read your list again throughout the day, read it as many times as you need to, modify it if it feels good.

Writing out a gratitude/pick me up list will change your funky mood to – JOY!

3 Ways to Tune into Your Intuition

Have you ever had a feeling that seemed totally crazy and made no sense, only later to find out that you should have followed that feeling?  This has happened to me many times, I get a gut feeling about something like take a sweater to the restaurant but my rational self kicks in and tells me that’s crazy it’s 100 degrees outside, only to regret later that I didn’t listen to my self and bring a sweater because it’s freezing inside the restaurant.

I think most of us have had an awareness of our inner knowing, our intuition, a time when we had a feeling in our gut and we just knew something without knowing how we knew it, but we rationalized it and questioned it and later regretted that we didn’t follow it.

Your intuition is your inner compass, it’s your own magical north star, and it always wants to guide you for your highest good.  Unfortunately we’re not taught to listen to our own self, we’re taught to seek advise and listen to outside influences.

If you want your life to flow more easily than it’s time to get tuned into your intuition.

Here are 3 ways to get started:

Tune into your body, when you get that feeling stop and pay attention to it.  Mostly it’s a gut feeling, a knowing that you get.  If the sun is shining but your gut is telling you to take an umbrella with you,  take it.

Sonia Choquette who is a world renowned six sensory spiritual teacher, says that the best way to begin is to “get a small pocket notebook that you can carry with you at all times.  Every time you get a hunch, gut feeling “AHA!” moment…jot it down in your notebook.  Don’t let your ego censor, judge, discriminate or in any way edit the information or feelings you receive.  Don’t worry if your vibes feel silly, irrelevant, irrational, or stupid; or if you think that what you feel is nothing more than your imagination.  Write it all down anyway.  Your mind will see that every vibe you have makes sense in one way or another over time.”

Trust – when you get that mystical feeling about something, trust it, even if it makes no sense in that moment.  Follow your inner feeling.  And by the way trusting yourself will build up your self-confidence.

Your intuition is not loud, it’s subtle, it nudges you quietly, it warns you when you’re in danger, it guides you to what is best for you.  It’s a knowing that you get that cannot be explained, you just know things.  While the gardner was here last week I had a gut feeling that the new guy helping him messed up the sprinklers, I knew this before I had solid proof.

It’s important to bear in mind that there are other energies working within you, for example there’s your rational mind and your ego so learn to distinguish between those and your intuition. The more you become aware of and follow the urgings of your intuition,  the more connected you’ll be with your inner knowing, and following your inner knowing is showing up for yourself.  The more you show up the greater your life becomes.

The Benefits of Buying Yourself Flowers

Everything has a reason and a purpose in this universe and flowers are no exception, they are magical, mystical beings that support and love us in many ways.

When I bring fresh flowers home, I can feel a change in energy as soon as I walk in, I can feel the atmosphere change.  Actually, I can feel something as soon as I start looking at them in the store, something changes energetically in my body.  My heart opens, I’m overcome with a feeling of joy and love, there’s a calm that comes over me and they put a smile on my face.

For years I sat and waited for someone else to bring me flowers, I never thought of flowers being something that I can give to myself, it was something that someone else gave you for a special occasion.  Once when I was visiting a friend I noticed that she had flowers in a couple of places in her home and when I asked who got her the flowers she said no one, she bought them herself.  It was like a light bulb turned on in my head.  WOW!, I love flowers so much but I never thought of buying them for myself.

I’ve been buying myself flowers ever since.  Although I have to admit that there are times that I have flowers every week, and than there are times, and I don’t know why, that I stop for a while, but they have become a part of my overall self-care/self-love must have, and I never go for too long without them.

Just some of the benefits – flowers can brighten up a room and your mood.  Because they oxygenate the air, they help our concentration and memory, which in turn boosts our brain cells and makes us feel better.

Just looking at them the color, the loveliness makes us feel happy and peaceful.

They can also have a fundamental impact on our health, they reduce stress, aid in helping us have peace of mind, sleep better and just overall feel better.  They help us feel less anxious or depressed. And they even have the power to increase our productivity and boost our creativity, and who doesn’t want that?

We’re blessed to have different flowers for every season, and I love having them in my home.  It’s become a part of my ritual of welcoming in a new season and I feel more connected with nature in their presence, oh and one other thing, they raise the energy and vibration all around me.  If you’re thinking that you have to spend a lot of money on them, you don’t.  I usually buy them in the supermarket and the price is usually less than $10, I bought the ones in the first picture for $6.99.
