I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Tarot.
There are mysteries and magic in the Tarot that are golden keys to getting deeper into yourself. Every time I draw a card I’m blown away by the guidance and the messages the cards offer. They are tools to unlock the unconscious and to go beneath the surface into the otherworld.

I actually had been thinking about Tarot for years but never really did anything about it, it was just a thought I didn’t know anything about Tarot, I thought it was a fortune telling thing. I got my first deck in 2015, but I couldn’t really get connected with it. Last year I took a class and bought the RWS deck more because for the class, I wasn’t attracted to those either. So I just kind of dabbled in and out of Tarot for over a year until one day there it was, that emotional connection, and everything about Tarot changed.
When you first look at it there’s so much to learn that it can be overwhelming but, I’m giving myself the gift of learning the Tarot, I know it’s not something you can learn and know overnight. But I can’t put it down, Tarot is in my heart and under my skin.
The Tarot can wake the giants inside you and open the doors to magical gardens.
Every thing has meaning it’s filled with myth, symbols, numbers. There are the elements and scenes, humans and non-humans in the cards. Nature, astrology, fantasy…

The same card may reveal to you at times different secrets that it’s holding for you. The interpretation of the card can be slightly different from one day to the next and one deck to the next. It all depends on you. They touch upon your emotions; they invite your intuition to reveal them. Oh and lets not forget the flowers, animals, colors and the elements, each revealing a unique aspect of itself you can spend a lifetime learning Tarot and still not know every thing.
There are endless possibilities and infinite wisdom hidden in the visions and meanings of the cards. It’s a great way of letting your intuition do the talking and getting in touch with your soul.
They are visual way showers. Gateways to the light and shadow parts hidden within you. They are transformational. That’s the beauty of the Tarot it’s filled with mystery giving you a glimpse into your own constantly changing inner world.
They are a mirror of you, they reflect back to you your own inner psyche.
They will point you to where you are on your journey. Within them lie the answers for you to unfold. They will open your eyes to a situation.

And the funny thing about Tarot is, (if you’re feeling drawn to them don’t say I didn’t warn you,) is that you can’t have just one deck, or at least I can’t. It’s like eating one potato chip. They draw you to them, they become a part of who you are.
I don’t look at Tarot as a means to foretelling the future, I don’t believe any system can do that, but I do look on them as a means of divination. To learning about myself. To uncovering the mystery that wants to be seen.
And all I know is that everyday when I draw a card it’s the absolutely perfect card, depicting where I am in true raw form.
I am in love with Tarot.
Right now I’m taking a course with Susannah Conway, 78 Mirrors, it’s fabulous. And I’m signed up for a class with Caroline Donahue, Story Arcana so excited for this.

I wanted to end this year with some really creative ideas, some inspiring thoughts, say some things that are very deep and clever…but the truth is that I can’t think of anything LOL.

So instead here’s a short list of a few of the books that I read this year that I really, really liked.
The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear and Take Life to the Next Level by Gay Hendricks
Everyday Witchcraft: Making Time for Spirit in a Too-Busy World by Deborah Blake
The Second Half of Life: Opening the Eight Gates of Wisdom by Angeles Arrien
When the Heart Waits: Spiritual Direction for Life’s Sacred Questions by Sue Monk Kidd
What I’m reading right now –
Uncharted: The Journey Through Uncertainty to Infinite Possibilities by Colette Baron Reid
You Are Woman, You Are Divine: The Modern Woman’s Journey Back to the Goddess by Renee Starr
Some new stuff for 2017
I personally feel as though I’ve been transformed and I’m stepping out of an old energy that now no longer fits me and stepping into a new higher level of consciousness.
My word for 2017 is “commitment” (more on this later)
A couple of weeks ago I read about Labradorite and I immediately felt drawn to it. It holds the power for awakening the magic mystical psychic powers within, so this is my meditation/writing crystal that I am holding with me for this new year. And I signed up for The Year of Me 2017 with Nicole Cody, I love her blog Cauldrons and Cupcakes. To work with The Year of Me planner she encourages you to choose a gratitude stone. I have a desert landscape outside my house and I have river rocks and other stones that I’m not sure of what they are. But when I was looking for my gratitude stone this particular one caught my eye and I had to pick it up. I’m not sure if this will be my gratitude stone but, when I hold it I feel very grounded and connected with Mother Earth, and so it’s with me.

My oracle cards that I feel very inspired by and connected to at the moment is the Connected and Free, The Alchemist’s Oracle and these are the two cards that jumped out at me today. And there will definitely be Tarot cards in 2017.

Thank you my lovely friends wishing you
Health, Happiness, and Prosperity for you and your family
may all your dreams come true, and more…
Happy New Year!!!

Life always asks us to come to the edge and it’s always up to us if we’re going to let go and fly off… or stand there enveloped by fear imprisoned inside our own thoughts, those ones that keep us enslaved in our past.

Yes, we all have gone through emotional or physical abuse, had some horrific experiences, maybe some of us more than others, but we always have a choice – do we want to allow that what happened in the past to rule and regulate us in the now, in this present moment, as we stand here on the edge of a new beginning?

Or, do we allow ourselves the freedom to let go of it’s grasp and we fly off the edge knowing that God is holding us, moving us forward opening us to new experiences, to a new understanding, to a deeper love, to a new song that is waiting to be born inside us.

Life moves us whether we like it or not, life does not stand still. We may stand still inside our selves, but life goes on.

We cannot know this new song stirring within, if we are not willing to let go and fly off that edge into the mystery…
Here’s to flying…

I wanted to take a cruise for my 70th birthday, I looked at it as a retreat on the ocean, so my kids gifted me with a cruise to Mexico. Seven glorious days on the ocean with three different destination stops.
It started with dinner in San Diego, California with my son, and I can’t believe that I didn’t devour the bread – I loooovvvve bread. I’m like Oprah, I can eat bread for breakfast lunch and dinner. But, I stayed committed to my health and didn’t eat but a very small piece and let me tell you it was delicious 🙂 (and yes I wanted all of it)

Dinner San Diego

And of course my son surprised me with a birthday cup cake, yum, which he ate LOL, but I did make a wish and blew out the candle.

I woke up on Tuesday morning to this fabulous view of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Wednesday, 2nd stop another fabulous view…Mazatlan, Mexico.

Lunch on board.

Boat carrying passengers from ship to shore. I didn’t get off at any of the three stops. I just took pictures at the ports.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico last stop. Another magnificent creation.

And a shopping mall right by the pier.

On my last day I was greeted by this spectacular view from my balcony… sunrise in San Diego, California.
I’m really proud of myself I stayed committed to myself all through the cruise and I didn’t eat any of the many delicious looking deserts, not even a crumb, except for the last day I had a small scoop of sugar free ice cream 🙂
I don’t know what happened because I was looking forward to turning 70 but I was depressed for the first three days of my birthday, still am a bit (I’ll write about this transformation in another blog post) I realized I’m at a threshold, starting a whole new journey in a place I’m not familiar with, letting go, opening up and moving deeper.
I saw the best show on the ship, the BB King All Star Band, they were amazing. I read two books, When The Heart Waits by Sue Monk Kidd and The Second Half of Life, Opening the Eight Gates of Wisdom by Angeles Arrien.
I had a fabulous great time. I am grateful.
Blessings
