The Benefits of Buying Yourself Flowers

Everything has a reason and a purpose in this universe and flowers are no exception, they are magical, mystical beings that support and love us in many ways.

When I bring fresh flowers home, I can feel a change in energy as soon as I walk in, I can feel the atmosphere change.  Actually, I can feel something as soon as I start looking at them in the store, something changes energetically in my body.  My heart opens, I’m overcome with a feeling of joy and love, there’s a calm that comes over me and they put a smile on my face.

For years I sat and waited for someone else to bring me flowers, I never thought of flowers being something that I can give to myself, it was something that someone else gave you for a special occasion.  Once when I was visiting a friend I noticed that she had flowers in a couple of places in her home and when I asked who got her the flowers she said no one, she bought them herself.  It was like a light bulb turned on in my head.  WOW!, I love flowers so much but I never thought of buying them for myself.

I’ve been buying myself flowers ever since.  Although I have to admit that there are times that I have flowers every week, and than there are times, and I don’t know why, that I stop for a while, but they have become a part of my overall self-care/self-love must have, and I never go for too long without them.

Just some of the benefits – flowers can brighten up a room and your mood.  Because they oxygenate the air, they help our concentration and memory, which in turn boosts our brain cells and makes us feel better.

Just looking at them the color, the loveliness makes us feel happy and peaceful.

They can also have a fundamental impact on our health, they reduce stress, aid in helping us have peace of mind, sleep better and just overall feel better.  They help us feel less anxious or depressed. And they even have the power to increase our productivity and boost our creativity, and who doesn’t want that?

We’re blessed to have different flowers for every season, and I love having them in my home.  It’s become a part of my ritual of welcoming in a new season and I feel more connected with nature in their presence, oh and one other thing, they raise the energy and vibration all around me.  If you’re thinking that you have to spend a lot of money on them, you don’t.  I usually buy them in the supermarket and the price is usually less than $10, I bought the ones in the first picture for $6.99.

I hope I’ve inspired you to buy yourself flowers, make them a part of your self-care/self-love ritual and feel their magical mystical powers embrace you.

Journal Entry – Divine Feminine

These are the words that came to me today when I saw the word “Feminine” for today’s prompt for the May Magick 2019 that I’m participating in.

I didn’t always see myself as feminine and having worth and being special.

I didn’t always honor myself, love myself, create sacred space for me.  I didn’t know about angels and spirit guides and animal spirits, faeries and Gaia.  Or, ritual and prayer.  And I didn’t know about Her.  I didn’t know about the Divine Feminine.

rose2I didn’t know that I can ask for myself, and that it’s ok to receive, give myself permission, and forgive myself.  That I don’t have to feel guilty, or make myself small to let others feel good about themselves.  I didn’t always know that I don’t have to carry shame around with me like a suit of armor, or live from a place of fear.  And I didn’t know that I don’t have to hide myself away, I didn’t always know that there is another way, that I’m allowed to think a different way or that the universe is not against me.

I wasn’t always proud of who I am.  The truth is that I didn’t know who I am.

I didn’t know my own feminine worth, my own beauty, my own desires.  I didn’t have dreams, I didn’t know I was creative, and loving, that I had wisdom and beauty and joy all inside of me just waiting for me to wake up to my own self and unearth out my hidden treasures.

I didn’t always know that I am Divine Mother incarnate.  That She is in me, as me, and through me.  She is me and I am Her.

I didn’t know – I am all that – Divine Feminine!

Why Give Your Self Praise

It’s real easy to put ourselves down for what we believe we didn’t do right, or perfect enough, or for putting our foot in our mouth…But it’s not often, or maybe never, that we give ourselves a high five for a job well done.  Maybe appreciating ourselves for finishing a goal we set for ourselves, for being brave enough, or for the every day things that we accomplish…We praise everyone else for all sorts of things, oh what you did was great…I knew you could do it…I’m so proud of you…you’re amazing…but we don’t say those kind precious words to our own self.

I was looking through some photos and I’m in awe of how great a photographer I’ve become.  I’ve busted through and gotten over my fear of photographing something in public. I’ve developed a keen eye and an inner sense of looking through the lens and highlighting the beauty in what I’m photographing. I’ve gained perspective for how to position my subject for best effect, and I’ve learned how to edit my photographs…I’ve fallen in love with the camera and seeing my creations bring happiness to others makes me super happy and proud of myself.  So today I’m praising myself for the awesome photographer I’ve become.  I AM AWESOME!!!  YEAH!!!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you can kind of tell that I love flowers.  I find them wherever I go.  These I photographed today at the supermarket.

Giving your self praise will uplift your mood, will make you happy and feel good about yourself, and it’ll help you believe in yourself.  It will empower you, give you self confidence, motivation and inspiration – and guess what?  All that is good for your health.

So how about you?  Be your own best friend.  You deserve kindness from you, you deserve your own praise.   It’s the greatest pick me up and the greatest for your soul.

Why Take a Day Off From…

Today I’m just popping in for a quick minute to just invite you to give yourself permission to take a day off – from the world.  That’s what I’m doing and maybe you need to also.

Sometimes I forget that I can’t just give give give, and go go go, I need to also stop, receive and refill.  I need to also give myself time to just rest and replenish, and well…                just do nothing.

hydrengea1

It’s a day that I give myself permission to just be.  Like I said I call it my – day off from the world. No work.  No heavy lifting.  No I have to.  I should.  I must.  No anxiety allowed.  (Although I have to admit I was feeling a bit anxious earlier, I’m totally calm now.)  No feeling guilty for taking time out for me to just chill, to just not expect anything of myself.  Just giving myself permission to play in the field without expectations to accomplish anything, or to create anything, or to inspire anyone…or, whatever it is I think I need to be doing.

Stopping to replenishing my mind, body and soul is the greatest gift I can give to my overall well-being.  This is part of my living mindfully and self-care, and sometimes I forget that I need to embrace solitude, empty space, do nothing time – rest.  Today, in my journal writing I was reminded of this practice by my Celestial Beings, thank you.

So, before I go and take a day off from the world, I just wanted to pop in here and share my thoughts with you, I hope that this will encourage you to do the same, if you’re finding yourself in need of some special self-care.

Blessings
