Hello fabulous you!!! Happy Friday. Hope you’re well and feeling great!!!
I’m a creative and I love creating these blog posts. I love writing content that inspires and motivates but, I haven’t been able to write anything because the thing is that, I had an IC (Interstitial Cystitis) flareup that lasted for five weeks. It’s the first time since I was diagnosed with IC that I had such an intense flareup and for so long. It’s a painful experience and it took everything out of me, my whole concentration every day was on managing the flareup. I’m so happy to say and I’m so grateful that, I’ve been flareup free for a week now.

We all go through rough periods but, instead of giving into it, talking about it all the time, keeping ourselves inside the pain and promoting more of what we don’t want, we need to, as difficult as it may be, change our mindset and give ourselves exactly what we need in that moment. For me right now that means giving myself quiet time, lots of self-care, eating mindfully, not allow myself to be stressed, and give myself the time to heal.
What I did
Food plays a major role in the flareup so, I’ve been eating very plain bland food. I only sprinkled a little garlic powder on fish and poultry before cooking, and mostly I boiled my vegetables in just plain water. I really babied my bladder by eating only bladder friendly foods. There was one time during those 5 weeks when I had to take an anti-inflammatory pill and that also helped. I like to take a wholistic approach with my health, but when I absolutely have to I will include traditional medicine.
In addition I wholeheartedly believe that keeping a positive mindset, and seeing myself already as healed, is also key in the healing process. What you focus on multiplies and I wanted to focus on being healed. I also said positive affirmations every day like, I’m healed, I am healthy, and I wrapped my bladder and my whole body with loving thoughts every day. This wasn’t easy but I did my best to concentrate on the energy I needed, trust in myself, listen closely to my body and give myself what I needed to heal.
The other thing I did is every morning when I prayed, I asked Divine Blessed Mother for her compassion and gave thanks for my healing.
I believe that the combination of all of the above together, helped me to deal with the flareup and heal.
I hope this post inspires, and serves you. Share your thoughts and leave a comment below, I’d love to read it.
