Why Take a Day Off From…

Today I’m just popping in for a quick minute to just invite you to give yourself permission to take a day off – from the world.  That’s what I’m doing and maybe you need to also.

Sometimes I forget that I can’t just give give give, and go go go, I need to also stop, receive and refill.  I need to also give myself time to just rest and replenish, and well…                just do nothing.

It’s a day that I give myself permission to just be.  Like I said I call it my – day off from the world. No work.  No heavy lifting.  No I have to.  I should.  I must.  No anxiety allowed.  (Although I have to admit I was feeling a bit anxious earlier, I’m totally calm now.)  No feeling guilty for taking time out for me to just chill, to just not expect anything of myself.  Just giving myself permission to play in the field without expectations to accomplish anything, or to create anything, or to inspire anyone…or, whatever it is I think I need to be doing.

Stopping to replenishing my mind, body and soul is the greatest gift I can give to my overall well-being.  This is part of my living mindfully and self-care, and sometimes I forget that I need to embrace solitude, empty space, do nothing time – rest.  Today, in my journal writing I was reminded of this practice by my Celestial Beings, thank you.

So, before I go and take a day off from the world, I just wanted to pop in here and share my thoughts with you, I hope that this will encourage you to do the same, if you’re finding yourself in need of some special self-care.

Blessings

  1. I love this, Masha! I hope you enjoy it to the max. I find myself doing this more often lately. And getting better at not feeling guilty for it. In Martha Beck’s latest book, “Finding Your Way in a Wild New World,” she talks about the path to happiness and success being that we stay in place where we feel good. I think days like what you are talking about are essential for that!

  2. This is such a good idea. A Day Off From The World. We need these days to escape from feelings of overwhelm and stress and to nurture ourselves and get the rest we need. The thing is to try to do them without letting life and worries creep in, and without feeling guilty. I hope you enjoyed your day. Maybe we should be scheduling these peaceful days more often, Masha! 🙂

    1. Caz, Thank you for asking, I had a great peaceful day. I love my time out from the world, and I wholeheartedly believe that taking a day, or half a day, or even a couple of hours, to just be without the hustle, is the best medicine for your wellbeing. Thanks for your comment and let me know if you take some time out for yourself and how that felt for you. 🙂
