I’m taking a class with Victoria Smith, “Softly Wild” and I have to say – I’m in love.
“For this week we are exploring a variety of “Softly Wild” practices for tuning in to our inner wisdom and intuition as well as connecting with Nature’s mysteries wisdom and healing energies.”
We’re to pick an oracle card everyday this week and tune into it’s symbols and meaning intuitively, not looking at the guidebook first. It’s really a great way of opening up to your inner self and developing a richer connection. I’m really connecting with my Higher Self in a deeper and greater way by allowing the meaning of the card to come forward from within, letting my intuition reveal the cards message. Since I’m new to this there are still times, like today, that I had to look up the meaning of the card to get it.
What I’ve been doing is, after I sit with the card and contemplate on the gift of its message, I’ll look up the spiritual meaning of any animal that is in the picture, any flower that I can identify, and any color that really sticks out for me. I also will look up the meaning of any numbers that appear on the card. These cards bring forth so much wisdom.
For today’s exploration, along with choosing our daily oracle card, we are also to work with nature’s energies. Connect with plants, flowers, crystals, whatever calls to us.
What popped into my head right away is Rose Quartz. Right now I need the healing energies this beautiful crystal offers. And the card that came up is “Compass,” in the reversed position from The Enchanted Map deck, by Colette Baron-Reid. I don’t know why all the cards I’ve been pulling lately have come in reversed position.
This card is telling me to get back to focusing on Spirit. That I’m off course and need to be pointing to True North. So true. I’ve been focused for the past two weeks especially, on a health issue, I’m getting more headaches than usual and now am really concerned, but I need to realign and refocus on my Higher Self.
What a gift both hold for me. Thank you Universe.
